1. What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as localStorage and sessionStorage, allow a site to keep small amounts of data on your device. We use the term “cookies” in this policy to cover both.
Cookies can be set by the site you are visiting (first-party) or by another service embedded into it (third-party). They can last only for the current browser session, or they can persist for a defined period.
2. Why we use them
We use cookies for three purposes: to make the application work, to remember interface choices you have made, and, only with your consent, to understand how the application is used so that we can improve it.
3. Categories we use
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary Always on | Keep you signed in and secure the session. Required for the application to function. Cannot be turned off. | ts-auth (authentication session), ts-csrf (request integrity) | Session to 30 days |
| Preferences | Remember interface choices such as the collapsed or expanded navigation state and theme. | ts-nav-collapsed, ts-theme | 1 year |
| Analytics (optional) Consent required | Help us understand how the application is used so we can improve it. Only set after you accept on the consent banner. | ts-analytics-id (anonymous identifier) | Up to 13 months |
4. How to control cookies
In-product choice. The first time you visit ThreatSpire we show a consent banner. You can accept or reject optional analytics cookies there. Your choice is stored locally so the banner does not appear again. To change your choice later, clear your browser storage for this site and the banner will appear on your next visit.
Browser controls. All modern browsers let you view, block, and delete cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent the application from working correctly, including signing in.
5. Third-party cookies
We do not sell your data. We do not allow third parties to use cookies on our site for their own advertising or profiling. Any analytics is used internally to improve the application and is not shared with third parties for their independent purposes.
Where we rely on a subprocessor (for example our cloud provider) to operate the service, that processing is governed by a written agreement that limits use of the data to providing the service to us.
6. Changes to this policy and contact
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and where appropriate we will surface a notice in the application.
Questions about cookies or this policy can be sent to privacy@threatspire.com.
